If you had visited Soras.com before, you probably wondered how athletics or Japanese linked with grief. They don’t. In the last 20 years, I have published books as I saw the needs. Here is a list of books published by Soras Corporations.

From Grief to Memories -- English version  $18.00

Shortly before my mother died, I enrolled into a post-graduate program at Hood College to study thanatology -- the study of death and dying. I decided to write a book to share the knowledge gained from this program and from my personal grief experience with a sudden and traumatic death. The book was written so that it can be read at different times of grief: (1) poems and sketches when the focus level is gone (denial period);  (2) worksheets when we decide to do something with this grief; (3) short chapters on the concept of death and dying when we have regained some focus and want to learn more; and (4)the thoughts of others shared in short stories of their own grief and how they handled it. This book, together with pretty ribbon wrapping, makes a simple-but-nice sympathy gift.  Retail price is $24.  Online discount given on this order.

From Grief to Memories -- Japanese version  $24.00
From Grief to Memories was translated into Japanese and published in Japan in 2005, which sparked many lectures on grief. This edition has additional poems and pieces by Japanese writers on their experiences on grief and memories. (Written in Japanese)

  Japanese Language Tool  $10.00
The Japanese language has two sets of alphabets with same phonemes (sounds). I always thought it would be good to have a tool that would show the three-dimensional aspect of this sound/alphabet system rather than have two separate charts. One night, I had a dream about this tool and proceeded to sketch it and had it made in North Carolina . The tool comes with a little booklet on how to use it. I have taught the phonetic system in 2 to 4 hours using this tool (2 hours for high school students). Retail price: $15.95.  Online discount available.

TheSoras Guide to Study Skills  $10.00

This book was conceived when David Langford was then the Associate Athletic Director for UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County). We both wanted a book that would prepare the student-athletes to understand and develop study skills so that they would succeed academically and athletically at the university level.

A Quantum Leap to Collegiate Athletics  $12.00
After personally going through the collegiate recruiting process as a parent and later witnessing some coaching abuse of student-athletes on the collegiate level, I realized how important it was to prepare the high school athletes to become more self-reliant and responsible for their own life, without relying on their parents. The book, thus, has exercises on setting goals, focusing, and even a chapter for parents on how not to be the parent that no coaches want in the gym! Only a few copies remain after printing two editions. Please contact former Olympic Coach Bill Neville if you are interested in a copy.
